Frequently asked questions

Can a free QR code expire?

A static QR code does not expire. It continues to work as long as the information or URL it contains remains valid.

What is the difference between a static and dynamic QR code?

A static QR code encodes the destination directly in the pattern. A dynamic QR code uses a redirect managed by an external service, which may allow the destination to be changed or visits to be measured. This tool creates static QR codes only.

Should I use PNG or SVG for print?

SVG is recommended for print because it remains sharp at any size. PNG is suitable for digital documents and quick everyday use.

Can I add a logo?

Yes. Keep sufficient contrast and avoid covering too many modules. The tool automatically limits the logo size and applies maximum error correction.

Can I create a Wi-Fi QR code?

Yes. The network name, security setting and password are encoded directly in the QR code and remain in your browser during generation.

Does Atomic Design store QR codes?

No. The QR code and its content are generated locally in your browser. They are transmitted only if you voluntarily confirm a problem report.
